Monicas Chocolates in Lubec

The owner is SO sweet and we were greeted at the door with samples. The chocolate is not cheap, but I definitely feel like for the amazing quality she could charge MUCH more. I had the blueberry wine truffles, and they will really change your life. I've never thought truffles were worth the hype, because they're always very small, dense, and expensive. But these were DIVINE.

Monica has great chocolates and an interesting selection of alpaca goods. We have been here two years in a row and her customer service has been amazing each time. She's very helpful and friendly

Awesome homemade chocolate and coffee from Down East Maine roasters. Can't beat the scenery either!

Tried this place after hearing from a few people around town with mixed reviews, boy were they wrong. This place is excellent. We were greeted with a very attentive sales person who let us sample a few items, which were awesome by the way. Let's just say if you're in town, make sure you stop here to get something. You won't be disappointed. My wife loves the bags by the way.

Awesome assortment of homemade chocolates. Also jewelry, coffee, and alpaca sweaters. Very good but pricey.

No review would ever suffice to describe how much of a treasure Monica and her chocolates are. She is unbelievably friendly and always willing to chat about chocolates, Peru or her life in America. While Lubec isn't close to "civilization" Monica's is always worth the drive for a tasty treat.

We stopped on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. She had delicious chocolates in all kinds of shapes that are quite appropriate to Maine -- clams, lobsters, etc. The clams looked so real and the touch of white chocolate for the shell was perfect. She also had a variety of giftware, including alpaca. I bought the most adorable and realistic alpaca fur Guinea pig. I'll definitely stop back next time I'm in the area.

The chocolates are delicious and what's more is that Monica is a jewel! She came out and talked with us herself and then invited us to see the chocolates being made. This was such a sweet surprise and my 11 year old daughter was just overjoyed and felt special bc of Claudia's kindness. And then she allowed me to have a picture made with her. She was so welcoming to us and that meant so much coming 1535 miles from Georgia to visit Maine.

Best chocolates in all of Maine. Lots of variety. Oranges dipped in chocolate are unique and intoxicating. Nuts covered with chocolate are extremely fresh and have a good taste. There is dark, milk and white chocolate available in all the different candies. All are made right on site. Monica also has a great and interesting jewelry and Peruvian clothing selection. Well worth the stop.

The chocolates are delicious and Monica was very friendly and helpful. She showed where each of the different chocolates were and explained what was in each one.

Monica's Chocolates is amazing and so relieved they are abiding and adhering to social distancing standards-only 3 customers allowed in at a time. The Peruvian confections are so good you cant go wrong visiting Monica's shop.

I love this shop. The proprietor is a vibrant, hard working woman who takes care of her guests, a welcoming hostess. Some awesome jewelry pieces, clothing and accessories. I scored a lovely necklace for $25. I picked up various chocolates for folks at home. The bonbons were delicious, great variety. I picked up truffles and such... enjoyed by all. She offers every size and variety you could hope for. Quality stocking or basket stuffers. I also like the tasting room. Try various jellies and mustards that are bursting with unique flavors (habanero garlic jelly was my pick). Stop in. Don't be shy to ask about a sample or two. A sweet find of Peruvian persuasion!

Awesome little hole in the wall place to get some delicious chocolates. We got to meet Monica and she gave us a tour of where she makes the chocolates and gave us some samples that were delicious. The truffles and nut chocolates we're both really good and we ended up buying a lot of different things.

Fun place to visit. The owner is super nice and loves what she does. She gave us a tour of the kitchen which was neat. The chocolate is wonderful and she also has nice jewelry for sale.

When we're Downeast we always make a trip to Monica's for exquisite chocolates. I even mail order from her on special occasions during Maine's long winters. Monica is always there with a smile and friendly greeting. The shop is unassuming from the outside but great surprises inside. Aside from the wonderful bon bons, truffles and many other sweet confections, there are mustards, pepper jellies, beautiful jewelry and accessories at great prices. Not to be missed and worth going out of your way for.

Monica was lovely, fun and helpful. Blueberry wine truffles were delicious!!!! Bonbons are more than you could ask for in a bite size treat! Very hard to not buy overwhelming amounts of chocolate :) Jewelry was intricate and beautiful too

My time at Monica's was wonderful, the red headed sales associate knew everything. Her recommendations were spot on, as was her humor making this stop a highlight for our down east trip.

We had such a wonderful experience at this beautiful little shop! Great for gifts for any chocolate lover and for anyone who is looking for a cute something cute for a girl. We baught chocolate, blueberry mustard, and a pair of earrings. Happy with all of it! But to be real, prices range from $5 - to a lot of money. But the most expensive is hand made beautiful sweaters from Peru. :)

More than just chocolates, nice gift shop

If you crave fresh chocolate and you are traveling to Lubec, you need to stop at Monica’s. She makes some of the best creations to satisfy your chocolate fix. There are other items that make decent gifts, though the chocolate works just fine for me. It tastes very fresh!

Peruvian chocolate in downeast Maine. Monica and staff are all charming but that is easy of your chocolates are superb. Can't write about it without my mouth watering. Mail order if you can't make it here, you won't regret it.
